 | Havlick's Auto Rebuild first opened the doors for business way back in 1921. At that time, cars were less than 40 years old. Karl Benz had just built the first practical automobile to be powered by an internal combustion engine back in 1885. If you had a collision with something back then, most likely it was something other than another car. Pretty much every accident to a vehicle back then damaged one part, the radiator. The entire front end of your vehicle was radiator, so most of the work we did was to the radiator. Across the nation, most every shop like ours was in the radiator repair business. Times were quickly changing though because Henry Ford had started making significant changes to the automobile assembly lines back in 1908. Our nation was quickly falling in love with the automobile and with all those new cars, came the inevitable accidents. Havlick's was in for some busy times and rapidly changing technology. That theme has continued through to today. Over the next few months, we are going to document the history of our shop and share it with you here. We know you will be amazed at our history. Thanks for being a part of it as it continues to unfold. |
